Heart of Green is thrilled to announce a historic event celebrating the 80th birthday of Jane Goodall, the legendary advocate for the chimpanzees and all living creatures.
80th Birthday Celebration
Thursday, April 3, 2014
6 pm Cocktail Reception
7 pm Dinner & Program
San Francisco, California
With special musical guest Dave Matthews
Jane is the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and a United Nations Messenger of Peace. As part of her legacy, Jane would like to relocate 100 orphaned chimpanzees from an overcrowded rehabilitation center to three pristine islands that are part of the recently-expanded Tchimpounga Nature Reserve in the Republic of Congo. These chimpanzees will be able to live out their lives on the islands under the care of the Jane Goodall Institute in a more natural and protected habitat.
"The Best Birthday Present"
As Jane says, “All of these chimpanzees are waiting. I am hoping that for my 80th birthday, we can raise enough money to give them their freedom. That would be the best birthday present that I could have.”
RSVP: Please note that this event is now sold out! Thank you so much for your support.
Please see the Wildlife Conservation Network for future events that benefit the animals.
On April 3 at 11 am PST, tune into a live Google+ YouTube Hangout with Dr. Jane Goodall. Join the conversation by posting questions on Google+ or Twitter (@JaneGoodallInst) using the hashtag #80yearsofJane.
Don’t miss one of my favorite organizations, Jane’s Roots & Shoots. It gives young people the knowledge, tools, inspiration and hope to improve the environment and the quality of life for people and animals. Hundreds of thousands of young people in more than 120 countries are now part of the network helping to create a more hopeful tomorrow.
