We are all interconnected. This is the message that comes through the extraordinary new film SAMSARA opening this Friday in cities across the nation. Named for the Sanskrit word that means “the ever turning wheel of life,” the film offers viewers an unparalleled visual feast for the senses.
"Powerful,” “visually breathtaking,” and “stunning pure cinema” are just a few of the words used to describe this work of art of the moving image. Filmed over a period of five years in twenty-five countries, SAMSARA takes us on a tour of the world covering natural wonders, sacred grounds, modern marvels, and more illuminating the links between humanity and nature and showing the amazing rhythm of our planet.
SAMSARA reunites director Ron Fricke and producer Mark Magidson, whose award-winning films “Baraka” and “Chronos” were acclaimed for combining visual and musical artistry. SAMSARA was filmed entirely in 70mm with a custom motion control time-lapse camera. The result is a showcase of mesmerizing images of unprecedented clarity.
