What I love about CEH is that they are often out in front of issues that come into the mainstream several years later. In short, they are a trailblazer. Their goal is to make the world a safer place to live, work, learn, and play.
For example, CEH exposed the lead in toys, baby bibs, candy, lunchboxes, diaper creams and more, forcing recalls and changing the way entire industries make children’s products. Then the Center helped write and pass the first-ever federal law banning lead in children’s products.
Other important issues the Center has taken on include GMO food labeling, nanomaterials in sunscreens, methyl iodide pesticides on strawberries, and ensuring that “organic” personal care products are truly organic.
I am thrilled to be serving on the host committee for the gala again this year. Please come and support this outstanding group, and let’s toast to a safer, healthier world. www.ceh.org
