Heart of Green embodies a passion for green, clean and everything in between. Founded in 2004, we support modern sustainability projects that protect life on planet Earth. I believe that we all have a Heart of Green inside and the power to connect with and be stewards of our beautiful world.
One of my favorite ways to become inspired is to take a walk in an ancient redwood forest. Over 97% of these majestic giants were cut down, but thanks to Save The Redwoods and others, the last-remaining redwood forests are being saved one by one. The organization recently protected 426 acres of rare 1000-year-old Noyo River Redwoods in Mendocino County from the sawmill and is actively working on conserving redwood forests in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Big Sur, Humboldt, and Sonoma County.
To save forests, one of the most important things we can do is buy 100% recycled paper and ask for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood. Avoid the phony SFI wood standard set up by the timber industry. We can vote with our dollars and make every purchase count.
