Can you be glamorous and save trees at the same time? Absolutely yes, especially with the launch of
supermodel Angela Lindvall’s John Hardy jewelry collection benefiting
ForestEthics. Named Hijau, which means "green" in Balinese, the
gorgeous line is inspired by bamboo and features rings, bangles,
earrings, and cuffs made from recycled and sustainable silver.
Model Angela Lindvall collaborated with John Hardy’s creative
director Guy Bedarida to create the beautiful works of body art. All are handmade
by local artisans in Bali. Ten percent of the
proceeds from this coveted, conscious collection will be donated to
ForestEthics, which has protected over 100 million acres of
endangered forests and wildlife to date. Don’t miss the chic $95 woven
organic-cotton cord bracelets in multiple colors, of which 100% of the proceeds
are donated to ForestEthics.
See the eco-conscious Angela Lindvall behind the scenes in
her jewelry photo shoot video against a tropical backdrop of Balinese bamboo. Now that is green glamour! Also check out this sustainable photo shoot on SHFT featuring Angela and eco-fashion designer Linda Loudermilk.
Many people might not realize just how dedicated John Hardy is
to sustainability. Their lush compound in Bali
is self-sustaining with green buildings, eco-friendly production processes,
water purification, recycling, and carbon offsets via their Wear Bamboo, Plant
Bamboo project on Nusa Penida island. See Angela Lindvall’s own philanthropic activities
at her Collage Foundation, which has been a force of nature for much longer
than green has been trendy. Now it’s off to procure a Hijau bracelet for my
next eco event. www.johnhardy.com
