About WildAid:
WildAid is an innovative and highly-effective wildlife
conservation organization whose motto is “When the buying stops, the killing
can too.” WildAid works on the often
overlooked demand side of the equation.
For example, they run high-profile advertising campaigns in Asia with
celebrities and Olympic athletes to reduce the unsustainable consumption of
wildlife and build grassroots political support for conservation. Their recent
campaigns to save tigers, sharks, rhinos, and ocean hot spots have been very
successful, and they are hot on the trail of more results. See their cool ad campaigns and learn more at www.wildaid.org
When I first decided to dedicate my life to the environment
in 2004, WildAid was the first organization I called. I am thrilled to serve on the host committee for
their 2010 Endangered Species Day celebration event. For me it boils down to one central question.
What kind of world do we want to live in:
one in which elephants, tigers, and whales are alive and thriving –
or one in which they are extinct? Many of
these iconic species are on the brink, and it is really now or never to save
them. That is why I am prioritizing
animal conservation this year and beyond. When we save the wildlife and their homes
in the great forests and oceans, we save ourselves in the process, and we preserve
a world filled with beauty and magic.
As WildAid says, "“When we all come together, we can do anything.” Come join us for the festivities!
