When I first decided to dedicate my life to the environment in 2004, WildAid was the first organization I called.  I am thrilled to serve on the host committee for their 2010 Endangered Species Day celebration event.  For me it boils down to one central question. What kind of world do we want to live in:  one in which elephants, tigers, and whales are alive and thriving – or one in which they are extinct?  Many of these iconic species are on the brink, and it is really now or never to save them.  That is why I am prioritizing animal conservation this year and beyond. When we save the wildlife and their homes in the great forests and oceans, we save ourselves in the process, and we preserve a world filled with beauty and magic.

As WildAid says, "“When we all come together, we can do anything.”  Come join us for the festivities!

Heart of Green became an early supporter of the X Prize Foundation because they spur innovation in areas such as clean energy, science, education, and the environment.

I am excited about the Progressive Automotive X Prize which culminates this September with a $10 million competition. The goal is to inspire a new generation of viable, safe, affordable vehicles that exceed 100 MPG energy equivalent (MPGe) and that people actually want to buy. Twenty-eight teams representing 36 super fuel-efficient vehicles from across the globe are competing right now in Michigan. I look forward to seeing who wins the ultimate prize and taking the victorious car for a spin.

A benefit for the On-Q Initiative, the nonprofit organization founded by actress-activist Q’orianka Kilcher with the mission to give a voice to the voiceless, especially indigenous peoples, youth advocates and the environment. At the age of 14, Q’orianka Kilcher emerged into the front ranks of young actors with her portrayal of Pocahontas opposite Colin Farrell in Terrence Malick’s The New World. Q'orianka is a winner of the Brower Youth Award. The On-Q Initiative works to support a community of grassroots projects dedicated to social and environmental justice.
