Recently over 250 fashionable eco-ladies and gents poured
into Le Club on Nob Hill to support the Sowing Hope: EcoMom Congo Project. Due
to current mining-related conflicts, the Congo has become a very dangerous place for women. The situation is urgent, and the
crowd at Le Club rose to the occasion.
On board for this important cause are Robin
Wright Penn, Rosario Dawson, Diane
Lane, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Katie & Todd
Traina and more.
Helge Hellberg of Marin Organic said, “When a woman is
harmed on the other side of the world in the Congo, it affects us all.” You
could have heard a pin drop. It is a moment that will not soon be
forgotten.
My friend Kimberly Pinkson is the founder of the EcoMom Alliance, a wonderful group that helps women
sustain themselves, sustain their families and sustain the Earth.
I was happy
to serve on the host committee for the party. Since I am not technically an
eco-mom and don’t have little ones to take care of directly at the moment, I
