I am all over these bottles... SIGG may be my new best friends. Thanks for sharing!

I've posted this elsewhere, but here goes:

According to a June 1 article at allbusiness.com:

“Today, the United States is the world’s largest consumer of paper cups. Of 220 billion cups per year used worldwide, 130 billion cups are consumed in North America. The food service sector accounts for approximately 30% to 40% of total output, and fluctuates following the public’s taste for fast food and drinks. ”

Bringing your own travel mug or cup is a small way to make big changes in the environment. All the major chains (Starbucks, Intelligentsia, etc) give you a 10 or 15 cent break for bringing your own cup. Pocket the change or tip your server.

And pass the word.

Even better, cut and paste this information into an email and send it to everyone you know.

BRING YOUR OWN CUP!
Small+acts = big change.

Starbucks serves more than 2.3 billion cups per year. Last year, Starbucks introduced a new disposable cup containing 10% post-consumer recycled content. And recycled paper napkins. Hooray! But the remainder of the cup is still made from the dreaded 100 percent bleached virgin paperboard, i.e. that is a lot of trees being cut down. Point blank, we shouldn’t be cutting down something as important as a tree (needed for clean water, clean air, and carbon absorption) for a cup that we are going to through away in 5 minutes. It just doesn’t make sense.

This seems very likley and we are trying to have people in our city BRING THEIR OWN CUPS

Hi coincidence or not I was reading this blog and I want to invite you to my facebook group: "Cup in my trunk", which is basically an invitation for everybody to bringing in the trunk a cup/mug etc.. to fill whenever you are thirsty.
