Finally a boutique with 100% eco-chic fashion has opened in San Francisco.
At long last, cool green gals and guys have a
destination for eco-chic shopping: the new flagship Wildlife Works Eco-Fashion Boutique
located at 1849 Union Street between Octavia and Laguna. Run, don't walk.
Among the hip eco brands are Wildlife Works signature line
of wild-chic organic cotton tees made in Africa, the adorable super-soft bamboo
Panda Snack (that I can't get enough of), Stewart+Brown, Del Forte Denim
organic jeans, pretty Passenger Pigeon dresses, and gorgeous reclaimed cashmere
sweaters and sexy scarf tops from Deborah Lindquist. Other goodies include
animal-friendly, uber-stylish Charmone Shoes made in Italy. New brands are
arriving weekly.
For eco-moms, there is a section of delightful children's
clothes including organic zebra tees, Speesees outfits, and Kee-Ka. The kids space
is decorated with colorful paintings of safari animals on the walls, including
one very cute lion.
Kudos to owner Mike Korchinsky for making the eco-chic
fashion boutique dream a reality. Mike is the founder of Wildlife Works based
in Sausalito and also runs a wildlife sanctuary
in Kenya that saves endangered species while giving jobs to local people. Nearby
is the factory where the organic cotton tees are stitched for Wildlife
Works and other big eco-brands like Eden.
I've always wanted to see it and the wild elephants. One of these days! I need to stop blogging and start
eco-traveling, with carbon offsets of course. And decked out in eco-fashion.
