The eco celebrities were out in full force, and the green
limo line was around the block. That was the scene at the rocking Global Green
Oscar Party in Hollywood. On the green carpet were Penelope Cruz, James Blunt, Petra
Nemcova, Diane Kruger, Orlando Bloom, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Guests sipped on Square One vodka greentinis,
rocked out to a show-stopping Maroon 5 performance, and celebrated one
incredible year for the modern green movement.
The party kicked off Global Green's Red Carpet, Green Cars Campaign now in its fifth year, where Oscar nominees trade in their gas-guzzling limos for clean cars on the big night. This year over 30 celebrities arrived in hybrids, electric cars, and bio-diesel glamourmobiles including Nicole Kidman, Forest Whittaker, Kirsten Dunst, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Al Gore. A shout out to the incomparable Gavin Keilly and his GBK Productions who assembled the Eco-Friendly Gift Bags for the celebrities who were eco-chauffered. They gave a whole new meaning to green junk in the trunk.
Robert Craymer’s new RC Green lounge furniture line was in the
VIP house looking ever so eco-inviting. Robert, you are the green man. Starting the next day, stars were treated to the Ultimate
Green Room hosted by Robert Craymer and Landers PR. In the Eco Lounge at 300 South La Brea was
an array of organic and sustainable goodies fit for conscious Hollywood royalty
including RC Green furniture, Valcucine Italian eco-friendly kitchen designs,
Soul Vegetarian fare, SumBody beauty products, Frutzzo organic pomegranate juice and more.
Kudos to the eco-friendly boutique Ambrose Hotel in Santa Monica and Eco-Limo for making my trip
seamless and sustainable. It is becoming increasingly possible to travel green in style. Oh, and yes Ed Begley Jr., I offset my flight via a TerraPass like a good green girl. Now onto the Oscars! Will An Inconvenient Truth take home the big prize?
