BROWER YOUTH AWARDS:
Earth
Island Institute established the prestigious Brower Youth Awards in 2000 to
honor pioneering environmentalist David Brower and to call forth a new
generation of courageous leaders. This award recognizes 6 young leaders ages
14-21 for their outstanding achievements in conservation, restoration and
preservation for the planet. Please see www.broweryouthawards.org
DAVID BROWER:
This program is
created in loving memory of legendary environmentalist, community activist, and
founder of Earth Island Institute David Brower. For 60 years, David worked
tirelessly to save our nation’s greatest natural treasures from Cape Cod to Alaska to the Grand
Canyon. Check out the new David Brower Center being built in Berkeley as a home for green at www.browercenter.org.
“People have alleged that I have
inspired many young people over the years, but I say, it was just the opposite.”
- David R. Brower
CO-CHAIRS:
Jennifer Snyder & Nadine Weil
Hope to see you there for an inspiring night celebrating the youth and the future!
